This was the first I've read by this author and with all the mediocre reviews I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. With that said, there must have been an edited version between some of the negative reviews and this version. I didn't have any kindle formatting issues and no real glaring editing issues that took away from reading the story. The story does flip between timelines of the old west and current times, but each time flip is at a new chapter so it was easy to follow. I loved the 2 main characters from both timelines, especially Grace and Reilly, and how the stories came together. I enjoyed this so much I just purchased Echoes from this author as well.Product details

This book started out amazing. I loved the storyline and the organization of the novel.in the kindle version,there were a lot of random dashes which tended to be quite distracting. I thought this was an interesting book overall,but at times it became rather predictable. I would put this on my "rainy day" list because its a quick read with just enough suspense and curiosity.
Do not know who edits but they did a VERY poor job. Many words on each page are hyphenated and it got very irritating. The story itself is good, does take a bit to get comfortable with two different eras and going back and forth. But that said when you get to the last chapter and you think you know what is going to happen you will be wrong as the writer has surprises for you.
I loved this book. I found that it had a great blend of all the elements that make up a great work of fiction. You have love, suspense, greed, violence, history & humor thrown in to make it a really enjoyable read. Very few errors when it came to editing which is always a plus too. Highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read!
I really enjoyed this. It had history, mystery, intrigue and more. Contained a bit more romance than I care for, but the plot made up for it.
Just finished reading this book and felt compelled to share my enthusiasm for this very well written book. It had me hooked and I had a hard time putting it down. Highly recommend it to readers who like a little bit of mystery, supernatural, and romance.
It was a good paranormal story. And it had a good overall story. A little romance, which was good. But it also had just enough of good old fashioned scary parts to it.
I found it hard to read this book for two reasons. One is the style of writing with switching back and forth from past to present. I realize it's necessary for the mystery, but it still became disconcerting. The other problem is in the editing for the electronic version, dozens of instances where words in the middle of a line are hyphenated. It began to make me dizzy while I was reading, and since I read quickly I got annoyed. Can't complain too much since the book was free; actually if I had paid for it I probably would be giving it an even lower rating. If it bothers you to be read-ing and see occur-rences like this, don't waste your time with this book.
